Props: Mothers
Fifty-five years old! It is important to take a deep breath and acknowledge age as well as the effort some of our parents have put into us. Fifty-five years old! That is my mother’s age and even at this age, she is still going strong trying to make life a lot more comfortable.
So let’s take it back……
I was seven when my parents got divorced and my mother had the custody of both me and my older sister. She had just one job but with will-power, she always made sure that she was home to make dinner and she always attended our extra-curricular activities; she gave us the time and attention we deserved as kids and this enabled her to mold my sister and I into the adults we are today.
There is no doubt that raising me was a very difficult task and she had to put up with my flaws.
Life has not been a walk in the park either but my mother has been my ROCK, my STRENGTH, and my SHIELD!!! She is my inspiration as she has gone through a lot of hard times but then again she always makes it! When life knocks her down, she seems to rise back from the ashes like a phoenix, stronger and more determined to exert her will!
Now that I’ve gotten older, I realize how much of an important person she is in my life and how she’s the world’s best mom even though we have never always gotten along. And I thank her for all she has done and all she is going to do in the future.
AND NOW….
Who’s your mother? Most people will use a word or two words to describe their mothers but I have plenty and all of the words that come in mind are positive! My mother is the sunshine of my life that brightens my day with her aura of inspiration! Who’s my mother? My mother is Kona Jean Kamara!
